Technology is changing the way we meet, how events are turning hybrid

hybrid featured

A buzzword that is being heard more and more in event planning, hybrid events allow you to cater for two audiences, those who are physically in the room and those who couldn’t make it.

Hybrid meetings have been in existence for a number of years now but with the emergence of new technologies, this type of meeting is growing at a rapid rate. Allowing you to deliver your content beyond the four walls in which the event is taking place, hybrid meetings allow you to target a much larger audience. No longer do you have worry about those who couldn’t make it being lost opportunities for sales, instead you can reach out to all. Read more

Should we change shape to webinars?

Changing shape to webinarsFree webinars today became an effective promotional tool for sharing good content while raising the exposure of a company brand.

Many companies in our industry are organizing webinars on very interesting topics and involving well skilled speakers with just that purpose. Past week I attended a webinar presented by Dahlia El Gazzar on the use of Evernote for events and a few days later I’ve been asked to present one for etouches on social media for meetings and events, to share the experience we gained through the social media strategy we set up for the FRESH Conference and the publication of the Re-FRESHing social media guide we used for the past edition of the conference in January 2013. #IMEX13 feedback and slides of the presentations

IMEX Session 2013IMEX in Frankfurt this year went really well, 3 busy days full of appointments, events and very good education.

My personal impression about the trade show is very positive. I saw many improvements and very good partnerships the organization made to provide the best service to Exhibitors, Buyers and Visitors.

I appreciated in particular 2 things: the Tech Tap area and the Learning Carousel sessions, some compact learning moments useful to optimize the time at IMEX helping participants to decide which stand to visit to receive more information. Read more

The right web tools and mobile apps for your event

Two full days in Rimini at the BTC, the Italian trade show dedicated to meetings and events, with a very interesting education program.

I was there to hold two seminars: the first one, the 21st of June, was about Mobile applications and web tools for event organisation, the second one, presented the day after – the 22nd of June, was about Hybrid Events: theories and techniques to extend the reach of an event.

The number of participants registered to attend these two seminars was very large.

This is a confirmation the high interest of our peers on these topics. As a matter of fact more than 120 people attended these sessions, the meeting room (with a capacity of 90 seats) was completely full and many participants were standing in the back part of the room. Read more
