The FRESH Conference
is the annual conference organized by Meeting Support Institute dedicated to meetings professionals and focused on designing effective meetings.

FRESH will be in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 13-15 January 2013 and, for almost 3 days, we will explore together meeting formats, session formats, presentation formats, tools and techniques.

The FRESH13 adventure is not just theory, but thorough practical experience.

What we like the most regarding The FRESH Conference, beside the opportunity to experiment new stuff related to meeting design without having any fear of failing, is the sense of belonging to a tribe.

Who is the real buyer who deserves to be hosted?

Today I was thinking about the criteria used by the organizers while selecting the right buyers they would prefer to host in occasion of the next tradeshows, exhibitions and workshops they organize for our industry.

When you apply to be hosted you fill in a form where they ask you to write detailed information about at least 3 past events you organized and usually at least 3 future events you are going to organize in the near future.

They ask you what are your partners in managing the event, what is the venue, what is the dimension of the event in terms of number of participants and so on.

Then, in order to evaluate your ranking, they check your references calling the venues you should have booked, calling the partners you mentioned in your form and in a very efficient way they examine if you are an “honest real buyer” who deserve to be hosted or if you are a “buyer by profession” meaning with this second definition those who made of being a hosted buyer their main job. Speaking or attending a Campfire session at IMEX America?

Lilypad app screenshotI’ve been invited as a speaker to IMEX America, the America’s Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events, to hold two campfire sessions about “How to Write a Good RFP for your Conference Mobile Application” and “Audience Generated Content – Web Solutions for Virtual and Hybrid Meetings” in the Tech Pavilion.

Despite the name of the Pavilion these two sessions are in the campfire format, that means that you will not have available any kind of tech support.

I am ok with that but…

I like to be challenged and, as you can see in this website, my motto is “innovative solutions for meetings and events” and now I was looking for the right solution for myself in order to share my slides with the participants without projector or screens.

In my continued search for top applications and tools for events, a few months ago I have stumbled across a hot new startup with roots in Florida and New York.
LilyPad Solutions, the makers of the LilyPad App. A FREE app.

The right web tools and mobile apps for your event

Two full days in Rimini at the BTC, the Italian trade show dedicated to meetings and events, with a very interesting education program.

I was there to hold two seminars: the first one, the 21st of June, was about Mobile applications and web tools for event organisation, the second one, presented the day after – the 22nd of June, was about Hybrid Events: theories and techniques to extend the reach of an event.

The number of participants registered to attend these two seminars was very large.

This is a confirmation the high interest of our peers on these topics. As a matter of fact more than 120 people attended these sessions, the meeting room (with a capacity of 90 seats) was completely full and many participants were standing in the back part of the room. Read more
