Meeting professionals, the University of Sassari (Italy) needs your help for an academic research:
The usage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the meeting industry
Giacomo Del Chiappa is an Assistant Professor in Marketing at the University of Sassari (Italy) and he is currently conducting a research study which aims to investigate the strategic application of information and communication technology by meeting organizers, with Information and communication technology (ICT) conceived as an umbrella term that includes all technologies for the manipulation and communication of information, such as computer and network hardware, mobile and wireless technologies as well as social media, etc.
At present there is little rigorous information available related to this important decision.
This study aims to address this important knowledge gap and your contribution is very important for this study.
The on-line survey, entirely confidential, takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ICTs_meeting_industry.
Completing the survey you will be eligible to win one of 3 week-end hotel stays for two people free of charge (two in Sardinia: www.hotel-airone.com – www.hotelparcodegliulivi.com) and one in Tuscany: www.villapetrischio.it). The prize will cover just the cost of accommodation (B&B arrangement). All other costs are the responsibility of the prize winner.
If you would like to participate, please leave (at the end of the questionnaire) your e-mail. Giacomo Del Chiappa will advise you about the winner and you will receive a copy of the final research report. The 3 stays will be drawn among those who have fully completed the questionnaire.
Data gathered will be used in order to write scientific papers for national and/or international journals or conferences related to the topic of tourism marketing.
The results will provide an overview of the current state of application of ICT in the international meeting industry. Further, meeting planners will also gain a deeper knowledge of how their peers in companies are currently adopting and using ICTs in their business.
Corporate meeting organizers, PCO, CVB, Meeting planner and incentive house can all partecipate. Spread the word with our colleagues!
